Problem with OpenGL on Linux

Postby Mateusz on 12 Jul 2008, 07:39

When I try to run game I get error that

GL_ARB_vertex_buffer_object Extension is missing.

However when I type
linux:~$ glxinfo | grep ARB_ver
GL_ARB_vertex_buffer_object, GL_ARB_vertex_program, GL_ARB_vertex_shader,
It looks like extension is available.

As it comes to GLSL from previous posts I think my driver supports up to 1.2 version
linux:~$ glxinfo | grep shad
GL_ARB_fragment_shader, GL_ARB_imaging, GL_ARB_multisample,
GL_ARB_point_sprite, GL_ARB_shader_objects, GL_ARB_shading_language_100,
GL_ARB_shading_language_120, GL_ARB_shadow, GL_ARB_texture_border_clamp,
GL_ARB_vertex_buffer_object, GL_ARB_vertex_program, GL_ARB_vertex_shader,
GL_EXT_separate_specular_color, GL_EXT_shadow_funcs, GL_EXT_stencil_wrap,

So running this game should be possible.

I have

OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Intel(R) 965GM 4.1.3002
OpenGL version string: 2.0 Mesa 7.0.4

Full glxinfo output with all available extensions of my card is at http://pastebin.com/f5ed60f6b

we currently cannot really tell what your problem is and we need to investigate further. One reason may be that intel cards do not support GLSL on linux, this is needed for shaders and our terrain rendering. Perhaps there is a problem with the error message not displaying properly.

The problem is not really with shading language, as
suggest it should work.

Missing GL_ARB_vertex_buffer_object is causing that game does not start.
While exacly this extension is listed by glxinfo as available and working.
