Performance Issues when moving

Postby Das Gurke on 05 Apr 2008, 09:43

Good things first: The "style" of the game really reminds me of the Battlefield Series. Great work! I came across the game via the Rak.net and CeGUI forums btw.

But sadly I am not quite able to play the game. Performance is just fine when my tank stands still. Looking around is working absolutly smooth.

But as soon I start moving, my framerate drops to something like a single picture every three seconds. Maybe this is some kind of network issue?

For the record: my Specs:

Hello,

your Hardware specs are good enough to run Zero Ballistics smoothley. Have you tried hosting a game on your own? Can you tell me if the problem is still the same then?

You could also try putting all the option settings to 'Medium' and see if it gives any performance boost, could be an graphics driver issue then.

thank you,
Michael.

Situation when hosting a game is similar: FPS drops. But they occur on a different occasion:

The framerate drops every ~ 2 seconds down to a ~ 2 second freeze. In between, it runs absolutly smooth. Lowering the details does not help :(

Hello!

This sounds like a graphics driver issue to me, I think the FPS drops are terrain updates. Do you have a multi-monitor setup? What is the version of your graphics driver?
We had similar issues when running dual-screen with hardware acceleration enabled for both screens.
