Linux

I'd love to test your game on linux. On your readme you say that it hasn't been tested on an ATI card, and I only have ATI cards.

But how soon is "(coming soon)" ?

Hello!

The linux version is now up for download, we hope to offer more mirrors in the future.
Please note that the linux version is largely untested on other machines other than my own, which runs Ubuntu Gutsy with an Nvidia card.
I'm looking forward to any problem reports / success stories.

hi,
thanks for providing a linux version. I have tested it a lot under ubuntu hardy and had a lot of fun. I had one crash (together with other users) . Ok, to connect to the server I had to doubleclick , the OK button didn't worked and tried to connect me just to localhost.

I will take some testings on other linux installations

Hi Deflector,

thanks for your feedback.
The crash you experienced is unrelated to Linux and has been fixed since. I will have a look at the UI issues.
I assume you have an Nvidia graphics card?

Just played OK for me on an X1600pro with fglrx 8-3.

I notice the start script sets the LD path fglrx does this as well, so I guess it gets cleared.
It didn't affect me, but maybe it would have if I had other versions of libGL.so on my paths.

Hello,
everything works fine on my laptop - Gentoo GNU/Linux 2.6.24; GeForce Quadro, nvidia driver.
The game looks great and it's a lot of fun. Thank you for porting it to Linux.

We'll offer dedicated server packages for download together with the final release.
Map-Editor is still an issue, because we use GROME for level editing which is commercial software :(
Currently we don't have the resources to create a standalone Level/Terrain editor.

kind regards
