ZB on ATI Radeon

I'm trying to apt-get linux version through playdeb.net repositories, and it says that it depends on nvidia-current, that should be installed in anyway. I have an ATI Radeon X1800 card, so there is no need for Nvidia drivers for me. I have already tried ZB at home, where I have Nvidia card installed, but at work I have an ATI Radeon. Does that means ATI cards ain't supported?

The playdeb.net repositories are not supported by us - apparently some fan created this repository.
We provide an unpackaged version on sourceforge.net - try this one instead (http://sourceforge.net/projects/zeroballistics/). It should run just fine on ATI cards.

Though, it seems to me that one on playdeb.net is much more stable. I can't play the one I downloaded from SF at all - I can see perfectly only the main menu screen; when I connect to any host running ZB server, game colours getting weird (http://e137.ru/tmp/pix/zb.png) and I can see nothing, game just freezes.

There're lots of "ERROR : Assertion failed: "false" at line 309 in file /home/musch/c++/gamecode/bluebeard/src/InstancedGeometry.cpp." on console when I'm in game, and I getting en error on game start, here it is:
