Server rule changes

Postby Christian on 11 Apr 2008, 22:50

Hi!

To improve game play, we will change game rules on the official ZB
server and announce the changes here. If you have suggestions for a rule change, you
can also post below.

Today, collision behavior was changed so that
-) if both tanks get destroyed in the collision, both players are awarded a kill.
-) if two tanks with ram skill crash head-on, both tanks receive full damage.

Isn't the impact speed/angle used? You can have 2 differnet ones when you don't have a front hit.

Hi!

Yes, the impact velocity and angle are used, so the ram skill doesn't help at all when you are rammed from the side / from behind. The ramming player doesn't get any damage when ramming, with the new exception of a head-on collision with another ram-skilled tank.

The previous behavior was that both tanks didn't receive any damage in a ram-skill head-on collision, which was kind of unsatisfying.

Hi!

As of now, tanks on the official ZB server have a weaker armor at their rear, and stronger armor at the front. Use this to your tactical advantage :-)

I have been having fun broadsiding tanks with the ram then opening fire at point blank while they are still angled up from the impact.

I do that too. Hehe. Its a blast flipping your opponent several meters into the air. Speed 3 with a ram and HI cannon is pure evil.
